Non-thermal plasma activated CO2 hydrogenation over K- and La- promoted layered-double hydroxide supported Ni catalysts

The catalytic conversion of CO 2 to CH 4 and over nickel particles supported on layered-double hydroxide (MgAl) with different metal promoters was investigated under non-thermal plasma (NTP) conditions. It has been shown that lanthanum-promoted Ni catalysts significantly enhanced the in comparison 10Ni/MgAl catalyst (33.4% vs. 89.3%). In comparison, for potassium-promoted catalysts, is similar but selectivity increased (35.7% 62.0%). introduction La K dispersion improved reducibility species, thus affecting product selectivity. situ DRIFTS showed reaction pathways La- K- promoted catalysts. However, formation formate species surface, facilitating useful products.
